Kathak: Stories in Motion

Produced for PBS station KBTC, Kathak: Stories in Motion is the story of dancer and ethnomusicologist, Ameera Nimjee. The word Kathak comes from the Sanskrit katha — meaning "story" — and that is exactly what Ameera embodies every time she steps onto the floor. The moment I first spoke with Dr. Ameera Nimjee, I knew this was more than a story about dance — it was about identity, memory, and the search for belonging. - Laila Kazmi
