In 2010, artist Wendy Gold was at home, trying to cope with symptoms of postpartum depression after giving birth to her daughter. “[I was] really feeling lost in terms of what to do next.” She loved being a mom but also felt like “there had to be more.” For several weeks, she would go to her new studio and just stare at the wall.
