At Alif Laila Studios, we believe that powerful narratives can close divides and expand perspectives across cultures. Our work centers on producing and presenting art and films that highlight voices often missing from dominant media, creating connections between communities from East to West through shared human experience. Beyond production, we provide educational workshops that equip emerging storytellers with creative, technical, and ethical tools to tell meaningful stories of their own. By mentoring and empowering filmmakers across geographies, we’re not just shaping individual projects — we’re building a more inclusive, globally connected storytelling landscape.
Alif Laila Studios was founded in California by producer and director Laila Kazmi, who has written, produced and directed numerous short documentaries for PBS and branded stories for Amazon, and produced broadcast television specials.
